Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women and at Euromedica we believe in treating it with the appropriate means and providing the necessary and accurate information to women. Early and complete diagnosis, the most essential protection, is an obligation of every modern woman. Preventive breast screening is recommended for every woman and should begin at age of 40 or earlier if there is a family history of breast cancer or other risk factors. The golden triptych is mammography, ultrasound and clinical examination.

The latest generation of digital mammograms have been installed in the clinics and diagnostic centers of the Euromedica group, which ensure the best possible image with the minimum radiation dose.

Screening Examinations

Preventive breast screening means examination before the onset of symptoms related to breast cancer. Tumors detected through such screening are very small, thus increasing the chances of successful treatment of the disease.

For the screening at the ages of 20 to 30 years, a clinical examination (palpation) is recommended every three years, at the ages of 30 to 40, a clinical examination every year and from the age of 40 onwards, an annual mammogram and a clinical examination. To all of the above and depending on the findings, breast ultrasound and magnetic mammography can be added. In women with an “increased” risk of disease, screening begins earlier and is always planned in consultation with the doctor.

The screening is painless and provides early diagnosis, which in combination with the right treatment literally saves lives!
