Free Pap Test & HPV DNA Test for Cervical Cancer – National Prevention Program PROLAMVANO

The Euromedica Group participates in the National Cervical Cancer Prevention Program, offering free preventive Pap Tests or HPV-DNA Tests as part of the Ministry of Health’s PROLAMVANO program.

The aim of the program is to protect women’s health and ensure early diagnosis of cervical cancer, one of the most common gynecological cancers worldwide.

The program αφορά all women aged 21 to 65, insured or uninsured, who have a Social Security Number (AMKA) and have not been diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Women aged 21 to 29 who have not undergone a Pap Test or HPV-DNA Test in the previous three (3) calendar years are entitled to:

• A gynecological examination and Pap Test, and if specific findings arise,
• A visit to a gynecologist for colposcopy and biopsy.

Women aged 30 to 65 who have not undergone an HPV-DNA Test in the previous five (5) calendar years and a Pap Test in the previous three (3) calendar years are entitled to:

• A gynecological examination and HPV-DNA Test, and if specific findings arise,
• A visit to a gynecologist for colposcopy and biopsy.

Eligible women are automatically notified via SMS or email, provided they have activated electronic prescriptions. They receive an electronic referral for the test, valid for 6 months.

The vast majority of cervical cancer cases are caused by HPV (Human Papillomavirus).

Preventive tests help:

• Detect precancerous or cancerous lesions before symptoms appear.
• Identify HPV types that may cause future health issues.
• Enable timely and effective treatment, saving lives.

Pap Test is carried out exclusively at the following diagnostic centers:

• Ippokratis Nikaias
• Ippokratis Keratsini
• Ippokratis Palaiou Falirou

HPV-DNA Test is performed at the following units:
