Every year, on December 12, we honor International Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC Day), a day dedicated to the right of all people to access quality health services without facing financial hardship. Universal health coverage is a key element of a strong, resilient, and fair society and an integral part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
What Universal Health Coverage Means
Universal Health Coverage (UHC) ensures that:
• All people can access health services—from prevention and diagnosis to treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care.
• These services are provided without high financial burden.
• Health care is fair, equitable, and tailored to each person’s needs, regardless of income, gender, or place of residence.
The international theme for 2025 is: “Unaffordable health costs? We’re sick of it!”, highlighting the significant challenge of high healthcare expenses and the need for policies that protect every citizen.
Euromedica: Health Without Barriers
At the diagnostic centers of the Euromedica Group, our commitment to quality primary health care goes beyond accuracy and reliability of tests. Our goal is accessibility for all. We ensure comfortable access for individuals with mobility or other disabilities. We provide support and guidance to every patient, respecting their needs.
We continuously invest in improving our facilities and services to offer a truly inclusive care experience. We believe that health should not be a privilege, but a right for everyone.
Why This Day Matters
International Universal Health Coverage Day reminds us that:
• Health is a fundamental human right.
• No one should be deprived of healthcare services due to financial difficulties.
• A strong and fair society is built when everyone has equal access to health care.
Through participation in awareness-raising actions and the continuous improvement of its services, the Euromedica Group contributes meaningfully to the promotion of universal health coverage in Greece.
Health for all is achievable — without exclusions and without financial barriers.
