Two very demanding endocrine surgeries were performed at the Euromedica General Clinic of the Dodecanese, in mid-June. The first operation involved a 75-year-old patient with myeloid carcinoma of the thyroid, who underwent total thyroidectomy, preventive central and lateral cervical lymph node dissection. The second operation involved an 80-year-old patient who underwent surgery for the fourth time for thyroid cancer, with the aim of the final treatment of the disease.
These are interventions that are part of the broader framework of upgrading the services provided by the clinic through the interdisciplinary collaboration with the Euromedica Kiaous Stavors clinic in Thessaloniki. The surgeries, which were crowned with absolute success, were performed by a surgical team consisting of doctors Messrs. Papavramidis Theodosios, Pliakos Ioannis and Kotsovolis Georgios. The patients’ postoperative course was excellent and they were discharged the next day of the surgery.
Euromedica General Clinic of Dodecanese can now offer specialized health services to patients on the island and the wider area of Dodecanese, without requiring their referral to a hospital in a large urban center. The Clinic will soon proceed with new, specialized medical operations, proving its upgrade in the medical events of Rhodes.
