As part of the ongoing reform and enhancement of the services provided by Euromedica Alexandroupoli, a series of educational initiatives and organizational actions has been launched, aiming to optimize patient care and align the unit with modern healthcare standards.
The first of the scheduled training seminars took place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, after the operating hours of our diagnostic center, under the theme: “Basic First Aid Education.”
The seminar was conducted in collaboration with Mr. Christos M. Argyriou, Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Democritus University of Thrace and Scientific Associate of Euromedica Alexandroupoli, who led the participants’ training. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Georgios S. Georgiadis, Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Democritus University of Thrace, Director of the University Vascular Surgery Department at the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis, and Scientific Associate of Euromedica Alexandroupoli, for his overall supervision and coordination of the seminar.
The training included both theoretical and practical sessions:
• Analysis of the fundamental principles of first aid provision
• Information on when and why first aid should be administered
• Explanation of the expected outcomes of patient resuscitation
• Hands-on practice on a manikin, emphasizing proper technique and critical steps in rescue procedures
Additionally, participants received guidance on managing emergency situations such as:
• Allergic reactions and anaphylactic shock
• Drowning and near-drowning incidents
• Fainting episodes
