Euromedica Group: high quality dialysis from its four Artificial Kidney Units

TheEuromedica Group offers dialysis treatments of high standards and absolute safety in the Artificial KidneyUnits ( AIUs ) around Greece , in Thessaloniki, Athens, Rhodes and Kozani. Based on their modern equipment and their experienced and specialized medical and nursing staff, the group ‘s Artificial Kidney Units are governed by a sense of high responsibility and respect for patients. In fact, they are fully adapted to current health conditions, applying strict protocols in order to create a safe environment where patients can undergo dialysis without distraction .

The dialysis process is supported by top-quality consumables for optimal durability during treatment, made of patient and environmentally friendly materials. In particular, a range of state-of-the-art dialysis filters manufactured by Baxter (Gambro) is used, which meet specific requirements for different types of treatments and individual patient needs.

The modern equipment of the Units through specially designed functions can provide customized, top quality dialysis services (HD, on-line HDF), while at the same time monitoring basic patient parameters (e.g. blood volume, arterial/renal pressure, heart rate) and storing treatment data in the patient’s individual treatment card.

At the same time, special emphasis is placed on the quality of the water of each unit, which is protected through a modern reverse osmosis network, combined with special filters for cleaning the devices. At the same time, continuous and thorough water checks and system monitoring are carried out. This ensures that the water used to produce the solution is very clean.

Also, the use of special (citrate) solutions guarantees high quality, bio-compatible dialysis, which contributes to the well-being of patients after the dialysis session.

Dialysis, a very demanding process, removes all the waste products of the body, such as creatinine and urea, as well as any unnecessary fluid from the blood in case of kidney damage. The kidneys are one of the most important organs in the human body, as they act as ‘filters’, regulate the balance of minerals and water and are responsible for the production of important hormones. Their damage can be caused by a number of factors, such as diabetes, hypertension, stones, chronic kidney infections, genetic diseases, but also by certain drugs and toxic substances.
