The Department of Molecular Biology performs tests with molecular methods for the detection and analysis of viral genetic material (COVID-19, HBV, HCV), which are necessary for the diagnosis and monitoring of viral infections, such as SARS – CoV-2 and hepatitis B and C. These tests provide the possibility to measure the viral load of the above mentioned viruses and to identify the subtypes of HBV and HCV.
